Sussex Charmer is the marriage of two very separate cheese production methods, each one ancient and prestigious in its own right.

Combining the creaminess of a mature farmhouse cheddar with the zing of an Italian Style Hard Cheese, this versatile cheese is a stunning addition to the cheese board. In 2008, it won Best New Dairy Product at the largest cheese awards in the world, hosted in Nantwich, Cheshire. It has since gone on to win a further 12 Golds at these International Cheese and Dairy Awards and claiming Best Catering Cheese in Show in 2014 and 2023.

In 2017, it was awarded Best British Cheddar at the prestigious Quality Food Awards.

Sussex Charmer has the perfect taste credentials to complement fruit of any description. Its long taste profile in the kitchen soon becomes a chef’s best friend. Endowed with great meltability, it adds a sublimely creamy taste when grated over pasta. Our famous signature dish ‘Charmer on Toast’ has no rivals, as many will vouch!

Storage: Eat within three weeks of opening, wrap in grease-proof paper, place in air tight container in the fridge.

Orders received after 2pm on Thursday, or from Friday to Sunday, will be dispatched the following Monday (Tuesday if Monday is a Bank Holiday).

The Sussex Charmer cheese is the best cheddar with great taste and texture, but of course, having won the Great Taste Award many years running, it would be the best! The South Downs butter is in a class of its own—smooth and tasty. I enjoy having toast with butter and nothing else because it tastes so great! Twineham Grange is the tastiest vegetarian version of a parmesan-style cheese—non-vegetarians should definitely try it! AND, last but not least, the Sussex Charmer cheese on toast is DELICIOUS!

    Firstly, this cheese is superb. It has a good, strong flavour and a slight crunch. It resembles the flavour of a cheddar with the density of a parmigiano. It is very easy to order via the website and the product always arrives by overnight courier in an insulated bag containing ice blocks alongside the cheese. I will continue to purchase from this company.
